Unrest Screenings: Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I host a screening of Unrest?

Hosting a screening is an excellent way to bring people together to raise awareness, start a dialogue around ME, and provide opportunities for action.

Where can I host a screening?

If you host a screening in a public place, your screening is considered a community screening. We encourage you to find venues such as university campuses, community centers, libraries, churches, and/or your local theatres.

How much does it cost to host a screening?

In order to host a screening of Unrest in a public place, you must obtain a public screening license. This is typical for all films. Unrest offers licenses available at the following rates:

$100 (USD): One-Time Public Screening License

$250 (USD): Educational/Library License (screen on campus or keep the film in your library)

$500 (USD): Unlimited Public Screening Licenses (screen as many times as you’d like)

All licenses include a DVD or Blu-ray. If you need a different format, please e-mail screenings@shellafilms.com. Please note, there are no DCPs with foreign language subtitles available. Licenses to purchase can be found here:

What about translations into other languages?

Currently, Unrest is being translated into more than 20 languages (list below). As a result, there will be a multi-lingual version DVD and Blu-ray available soon. Our estimated completion date is Summer 2018. In the interim, foreign language subtitles are uploaded to Vimeo on a rolling basis. If your screening requires subtitles, streaming Unrest directly from Vimeo is an option; it does, however, still require a public screening license. We are happy to fulfill a license purchase for you and then send you a multi-lingual DVD or Blu-ray as soon as they are manufactured. If you wish to proceed with the Vimeo option, please email screenings@shellafilms.com.

Please note that all subtitles, whether existing or newly created, are going through a robust quality control review process, to ensure syncing and translation are accurate.
